2000 poster.  Starting numbers this year were;- 65 soloists with 55 completing the course and 31 teams with 27 completing all three stages.

This year's event was particularly marked by very tricky conditions at the beginning of the Canoe section which unfortunately resulted in a high number of retirals. The safety boats were as efficient as usual and everyone was safely brought ashore.
This year's winner demonstrated the advantage of being an all-round athlete, without being first or second fastest soloist in any of the sections, his superb record of 4th, 3rd. and 3rd brought him in over 18 mins. faster than last years winner and only 1 min. 18 sec. slower than the fastest team (and it took a marvelous run time by Russell Cook for them to beat him!).
