It would be too difficult to list everyone who put in time and effort to make this event work, but that won't stop me mentioning some of the more obvious ones, with apologies to those missed out:-

First and foremost, John (Ian) Allan, Ray Brown, Gordon Gooch and Brian Read (in alphabetical order), the main organisers.

Bob, Paul, David, Neil, Lyn, Billy and Colin on the timekeeping. (Hopefully that might be good for a pint or two.)

The Oban and Mallaig lifeboat crews from the R.N.L.I. and the Royal Naval Reserves, who helped keep the canoeing safe, with the help of the South Queensferry Sub-Aqua Club and individual boat-owning volunteers.

The Lochaber Red Cross.
Raynet Communications.

The Scottish Venture Scouts who did lots of very useful chores around the course, perhaps the most appreciated of which was manning the runners refuelling points along Glen Etive.

The Glencoe Hotel and their staff for putting up with us.

A special thank you is of course due to the dedicated band of lunatics who do the hardest work of all - the competitors and their sponsors! Without them the rest of us would have to find another excuse for a drunken weekend

If you would like a longer list of the people involved, then buy the T-shirt - the names are on the back.
