The
most famous monster in Scotland is, of course, the Loch Ness Monster
- but 70 Wild Miles has had it's own answer to Nessie. (And for once
I'm not talking about the Head Timekeeper!)
The
rather strange individuals in this picture, (not Gordon Gooch - the
two in the middle), decided to attempt the course as a tandem team -
and as if that didn't make things hard enough, they also decided to
do it in fancy dress! Some people have very odd ideas of amusement
I
have to say that for safety reasons they were not allowed to do the
Canoe section in costume but they did go out briefly to accommodate
those wanting a photographic record of total lunacy in action!
The
Run section was completed in costume however, and I can only say
that they have my complete admiration for their tenacity and stamina
- as well my signature on their admittance papers for any
institution catering for the seriously disturbed!
